Today was kind of just another unfocused day that eventually just went off the rails entirely when I realized that, despite my GPU driver running, my Steam games weren't using the GPU. Which is a very weird error. It took me a while to finally determine that that was the problem, and not something with xorg or caused by secureboot or anything like that. And the actual cause was due to a driver update a few days ago; flatpaks need other files to access drivers because of how compartmentalized they are, so the update made Steam unable to communicate with the drivers because now it was out of date. So thankfully all I had to do in the end was just update the flatpaks. I didn't do anything particularly annoying to try and fix this but it's still annoying to lose a whole day to it. At least it's fixed now.
